We've been so impressed with your incredible support for the campaign that we felt you needed some recognition...
Think you should be on Fish Fighters Wall of Fame? We'd love to see more photos and videos from you.
St Julians School

Townfield Primary School in Doncaster
This group of year 5 and 6 children (aged 10 and 11) supported a group of VRQ Students at Donaster College at the local fish market on 1st April. Together they made a short film, interviewed chefs and took lots of pictures to bring back to their school in order to help spread the word. They've also used the campaign as inspiration to create an impressive animation, which we think is fantastic. See a video about their efforts below, which includes the full animation at the end!
Mitch Adams
Mitch runs a pub called The Thatchers Arms situated on the Essex & Suffolk borders (boasting some stunning views over the Stour Valley) - The pub has been supporting the campaign through a 'Fish Fight Friday', which has proved to be extremely popular. Great stuff!
Adrian White
Inspired by his surroundings in Hastings, and after seeing the Fish Fight programmes, Adrian has created this wonderful painting that we think captures the Fish Fight campaign perfectly. Adrian's piece has been submitted to the Royal Academy of Arts for consideration in their Summer Exhibition. Good luck Adrian!

Nicki has been a fantastic supporter of the campaign. She has been spreading the word by showing students at her local school how tasty the mackerel bap is. Brilliant work Nicki!

Both him and his twin brother, Connor, have been making it their mission to personally talk up the campaign at their school in Hammersmith. Just take a look at some of the amazing dishes prepared by Sachin below - Clearly a new Hugh in the making!

We were blown away by this amazing collection of posters for the Fish Fight campaign. They were drawn by pupils in Year 4, Form 2, at Cundall Manor School. Amazing work everyone!
Sarah Johns
Sarah Johns emailed us with this picture of her baby son; "Here is a photo of my 13 week old son loving his Fish Fight onesie even if he hasn't tried fish yet. Keep up the good work" - Thanks Sarah!
David Montgomery & Sons
David Montgomery and his boys are supporting the cause down in Guernsey. They like to fish for their supper and feel strongly that things really need to improve. Great Fish Fighting fellas!
Mr. Bowen, Head of Year 9, Claires Court School
After a few assemblies with Year 9, the pupils have written to David Cameron, Nick Clegg, Theresa May our local MP, Richard Benyon and Maria Damanacki and did actually receive replies from The PM’s office and the MP for Maidenhead. The students at Claires Court have really taken to the campaign and are passionate about the plight of British fishing. It is time for change and Maria Damanaki in the EU parliament needs to act quickly.
Percy, Oscar & Felix Hunt
A fantastic video from three forward thinking chefs in the making! These mackerel fish fingers are a great sustainable alternative and look delicious too. A brilliant way to support the campaign, thanks for all your support Percy, Oscar, Felix (and Dad).
Will Craven
One of our younger Fish Fighters Will Craven, proving he’s ready to join the campaign!
Peter Stockdale
Peter Stockdale and others are the unofficial hosts and moderators of Hugh’s Fish Fight Facebook page. They are all passionate supporters of the campaign and tirelessly reply to the community and post information on this page, all with a large dollop of humour and good grace. Hugh’s Fish Fight thanks them.
Peter writes: “Discarding is so obviously wrong. I have for years felt that many of our cruel and wasteful methods of harvesting the bounties of the seas is no brainer.”
David Hankey
Campaigner extraordinaire… David wrote to his MP with regards to the EDM, wrote to all the MEP’s in his area asking for "their support and involvement", sent a letter to his local paper 'Leicester Mercury' and BBC Radio Leicester urging people to sign petition, and also wrote to Maria Damanaki and got a response!
Gemma Quinn
Gemma Quinn and 12 VRQ Professional Cookery students from Doncaster are going to be hosting two events to introduce the public to new ingredients and recipes. They have decided to hold a Fish Fight theme night in their Training Restaurant and produce a seven-course taster menu featuring entirely sustainable fish. They will be asking local restaurateurs to demonstrate to them that sustainable alternatives can be both profitable and enjoyable when incorporated into any menu. They’ll also be holding an event in Doncaster Market Square, which is home to one of the biggest fish markets in the country. The trainee chefs intend to work with the fishmongers spreading the word to the public, cooking up tasters and hopefully getting everyone involved in what is a very important issue for now and the future.
The Flying Fish
'The Flying Fish’ is a small fishmongers near Newbury who only sell line caught sustainable fish. They supply vacuum pack fillets for supermarkets, stores, farm shops and butchers and feel so strongly about Hugh’s Fish Fight that they have added labels to all their vac packs, which read “Join Hugh’s Fish Fight”. A fantastic way to spread the message!
James Hunt
James Hunt, is 19-year-old fishmonger, who runs a stall based in the Suffolk Food Hall, near Ipswich. James writes “My passion and love of fish is unbelievable, whether it’s catching it in my spare time, cooking and eating it or selling the best quality of fish in the east of England has to offer, I just can’t get enough of it.”
“90% of my regulars have watched your show and have been demanding the less popular species, sadly all I’ve been able to nab for the time being is a few flounders, some coley fillet and more of the less fashionable such as mackerel and squid. Trade has been pretty good.”
“I thought there wasn’t anyone out there who felt the same about the precious resource known as fish, but clearly I was wrong.”
Great to see such passion.
Lillie
11-year-old Lillie, is going to be talking about Fish Fight as her "cause that she feels strongly about", for her school speech. Lillie and her six-year-old brother Toby, watched all of the programmes and were shocked and outraged at the waste and disrespect for the Fishing Industry. Lillie is lucky enough to go to a very beautiful school, sitting on the cliff, looking out over the sea. She feels very strongly that the Fisherman that they watch as they eat their meals, and take lessons, both in school, and on the beach are being treated appallingly for the job they do, and the waste and disrespect to the marine environment because of ridiculous legislation needs to be highlighted to her fellow pupils.
Joshua Powell
Joshua Powell, a student at Cranbrook School in Kent, has produced a 'Sustainable Fish Stocks List' using MCS ratings, seasons and notes from the River Cottage Fish Book. This will be used as part of his annual school 'Sustainability Week'. Josh wrote “as it is not yet compulsory for fish retailers to label fish with their MCS Sustainability Rating, it was vital that the public has a quick, simple, effective way to determine the sustainability of the fish they choose to buy so they can make informed decisions.
Missy Shutt-Vine
Missy Shutt-Vine works for a Hudderfield design agency and the team their have created a Hugh’s Fish Fight banner to go outside their office. Missy writes “It will hopefully persuade passers by and motorists to sign up too”. They are also persuading their ‘chippy’ owner Shaun to add Mackerel Baps to his menu.
Jonathan O'Keeffe
Jonathan O'Keeffe is proposing to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats on a bike dressed in a fish outfit and promoting the Fish Fight in every town along the way! “I work as a G.P. and would like to share the message with my patients that fitness and a healthy diet are within their reach; what better synergy than to publicise the Fish Fight from a pedal podium and have some fun along the way. I can even organise a tandem if Hugh is feeling energetic enough!”
